North Queensland Persistent Pain Management Service (NQPPMS) | Townsville Hospital and Health Service

SERVICES

  • Multidisciplinary pain clinic within a teaching hospital environment. Accredited by the Faculty of Pain Medicine for Training Pain Medicine trainees. Involved in research and benchmarking (ePPOC). 

  • Individual and group therapy. NQPPMS provide a number of multi-disciplinary programs, programs including EQUIP, Mindful Movement, Tai Chi, EMPOWER and RADAR.

  • Interventional procedures available as part of multidisciplinary management.

  • ediatric service - supports paediatric patients in North Queensland either independently or in combination with Lady Cilento Children’s Hospital Persistent Pain Service.

STAFF

  • Specialist medical staff include Pain Medicine, Neurosurgery, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation and Addiction Medicine; allied health professionals include Nursing, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Occupational Therapy and Pharmacy; Administration Officers
