Carol Bennett, Chief Executive Officer, BSc, MPP, MAICD
Over the last two decades, Carol has worked at senior executive levels in national health and aged care organisations and has served on national and international boards and advisory groups.
Carol has been National CEO of Alzheimer’s Australia, Consumers Health Forum of Australia, Rural Health Workforce Australia and the Victorian Alcohol and Drug Association.
Board and advisory roles have included: the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency Paramedicine Board, National Health and Medical Research Council, Trustee of the Southcare Rescue Helicopter Fund Pty Ltd, Aged Care Sector Committee, National Aged Care Alliance, Aged Care Quality Council, Lifeline Canberra, Medicines Australia Advisory Council and the International Alliance of Patients Organisations.
Carlo Krikowa, Policy Manager
Carlo has extensive experience and expertise in policy, advocacy and program management. He has worked for national health not-for-profit organisations such as Dementia Australia and The Consumer’s Health Forum on high level issues relating to therapeutic goods regulation, quality use of medicines and dementia.
Prior to this, Carlo worked in the Australian Government on issues relating to Human Rights and Transnational Crime for the Attorney-Generals’ Department and in Youth Affairs under the Department of Education. While in Government he helped establish Australia’s Roundtable on People Trafficking and worked on various issues relating to the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Convention against Transnational Organized Crime.
Nick Nguyen, Project Manager
Nick has been working for non-profit sector for over nine years. Engaging with many community groups within Canberra and interstate .He always wants to use his skills set to contribute to the work that helps the community. He has been managing small to large scale events for Community Health Organisation including the AIDS Action Council. Along with his IT knowledge he has a strong interest in structural and aesthetic design concepts. Nick is currently the organisations web development administrator and project manager.
Gordon Houston, Project Officer BA, GDipEd
Gordon has worked in the health sector for a number of years and is an experienced Project Manager. In his most recent role with healthcare company, Aspen Medical, he managed the accreditation and reporting for all training and educational coursework.
Gordon is a qualified teacher who has taught in primary schools and in special needs settings. While travelling and living in different parts of the world, Gordon also worked in childcare and disability sectors. He has a personal interest in mental health and chronic pain and hopes that his work can improve outcomes for the millions of people who live with these conditions every day.
Gordon holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Teaching obtained from Edith Cowan University and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Communications from the University of Wollongong.
