SafeScript NSW to expand to North Coast, Northern Sydney and Nepean Blue Mountains
The second phase of the SafeScript NSW real time prescription monitoring program is underway and will be extending to the areas of the North Coast, Northern Sydney and Nepean Blue Mountains from late March.
SafeScript NSW is a computer software that provides prescribers and pharmacists with real-time information about a patient’s prescribing and dispensing history for certain high-risk medicines. These are known as monitored medicines and include opioids (e.g., codeine, morphine or oxycodone) and benzodiazepines (e.g., diazepam, nitrazepam or alprazolam).
Painaustralia and our Consumer Advisory Group have been working closely with NSW Health on the messaging for both consumers and for health professionals who will be using the system when prescribing or dispensing medications to patients.
NSW Health is seeking consumer feedback on your understanding and experience with SafeScript NSW program. If you are interested in giving your input which will help to improve the program for everyone, please click on this link.
The survey will be open for consumer feedback until the 18th of March and there are one of two $100 gift vouchers up to win.
